Music

Beginning in the late 60s, John performed at some of the first open mic nights with Clarence Clemons and Southside Johnny in Red Bank, New Jersey. After relocating to Pennsylvania in the late 80s, you could find John and his bands opening for many talented artists such as Loretta Lynn, John Conley and Buckwheat Zydeco.

Taking up song writing, John became a journeyman with the blues harp, piano, and vocals. He has played with numerous dance, blues, and classic rock bands. But nothing has been more rewarding than sharing music and the stage with his son, Frank Dancey, who has his own solo musical project and is also a member of the band, Hope Darling, hailing from Tampa, FL.

John takes value in organic song creation and is always open to collaborating with any singer/songwriters/producers. His current project includes song writing for a movie in production in the area of greater Philadelphia.

He is a current member of TAXI and a former voting member of NARAS (Grammys) and the Academy of Country Music. He resides in eastern Pennsylvania with his wife, and when he is not making music, he can be found spending time with his family.
